César Latorre Trio was created in Amsterdam in 2005 by the Spanish piano player/composer Cesar Latorre, Greek, New York based,  double bass player Petros Klampanis and Latvian drummer Artis Orubs.

Freedom of performance, modern romanticism and improvisation, are the guidelines of this piano trio. In their music there are contrasted moments of delicate intimacy and robust rock attitude. The three instruments melt in musical experiments in order to create a personal band sound that engages and surprises the audience.

In January 2007 the group was awarded at the YPF Jazz Competition in Amsterdam. The jury was composed by important personalities of the European jazz, such as Enrico Pieranunzi, John Taylor and Bobo Stenson.  CLTrio was also awarded at the Hoeilaart Jazz Young Talent’08. In addition the band has participated in the international competitions “Jazz Na Odra” in Wroclav (Poland), Audiciones ’08 in Madrid (Spain) and Granada Jazz Contest ’08.

Their first CD is entitled “Fastforward of a Day” (Free Code Records). The CD contains original compositions. Contemporary sound and instrumental interaction make every song a diferent sound experience. Their second recording “COLLAGE” was  released on April 2015 also under Free Code Jazz Records.
